Be Gone Colds And Flu 🌟
This lurgy busting elixir is a potent tool in the fight against nasty bugs. The change of season means that our immune systems may need a boost.
I have included the most effective ingredients I know for this drink. I store in the fridge and finish over a couple of days. Sometimes in one day if I need. I fill a mug half full with the lemon concoction and top up with hot water. If you need to sweeten further, add more honey or maple syrup.
💫Lemons - great source of immune boosting Vitamin C
💫Ginger - may help you to sweat, warming and has natural antibacterial and anti viral properties
💫Raw garlic - considered to be a very pungent and natural remedy for colds and flu due to its anti bacterial and anti viral properties
💫Turmeric - has long been considered a natural antibiotic in Ayurvedic medicine and is also an effective ingredient in the fight against colds and flu due to its immune boosting properties
💫Cayenne pepper - boasts lots of health boosting properties and I always add this ingredient because it's known to break up and move mucous in the body, has anti fungal properties and is known to stimulate the circulatory, lymphatic and digestive system. Cayenne may also help you to sweat, which is helpful in the fight against viruses.
💫 Honey - I use to sweeten (use local honey where possible)
Blend (I use a Nutri Ninja)
4 whole, peeled lemons
2 cloves garlic
1 inch ginger (peeled)
A pinch cayenne pepper
1 level teaspoon turmeric
1 dessert spoon honey
1 litre water
After blending, strain into a bowl using a sieve, to remove the lemon pith. Transfer into a glass bottle and store in the fridge.
