A super simple, digestion and skin loving, hydrating, cleansing and refreshing drink.
This is 1.9 litres of minted water, which I'm drinking today to stay hydrated, as well as my herbal teas and beloved Barley Cups.
I usually leave a bottle or jar of water next to the kettle, so I remember to drink throughout the day. Flavouring the water with fruit or herbs helps too.
You can either make this before you to go bed and allow to infuse in the fridge overnight, or make in the morning and infuse for a couple of hours before drinking.
Mint is a palate cleanser, may aid digestion, helps to freshen breathe, can be beneficial for some skin conditions and may also be helpful for asthmatics. Mint has been associated with helping to relieve seasonal allergy symptoms. It contains an antioxidant and anti inflammatory agent called rosmarinic acid (also found in basil, rosemary, thyme and marjoram). One of my daughters suffers from hay fever in the summer months and loves mint, so I'm going to give her more, to see if it helps. Worth a try anyway.
