✨ Running ✨
I started running nearly 6 years ago with my great friend Bronte Aurell, who owns The Scandinavian Kitchen (a must visit cafe for when you're next in the Oxford Circus area of London). My youngest daughter was 9 months old and I was looking for a way to get fit. Bronte started a while before, was looking incredible and had amazing energy levels. She encouraged me to run 3k with her, which was a total struggle... then she increased my distance to 5k, then 10k and before I knew it, I was running half marathons.
As much as I found running hard at first, I loved how quickly I began to feel fitter and absolutely loved the way running made me feel. Still do.
Running makes me feel grounded, more confident, more relaxed, stronger and fitter, puts me in a good mood, gives me headspace and is my stress buster, so for as long as I can, I'm going to keep it up.
I've loved the social side of running too. In fact, I've made some of my best friends whilst running.
The reason why I'm writing about running is partly to try and encourage you to find the thing that makes you feel fit, happy and more relaxed, if you haven't found it already and partly because I am en route to London to run the marathon this Sunday after 4 months of training with my friends. I'm feeling incredibly nervous (normal apparently?) but also cannot wait.
I am hoping to raise a good amount of money for the Joshua Nolan Foundation.
JNF's aim is to support young people who are suffering from mental health problems. The ultimate aim is to prevent suicide, which is too common among young people, males especially.
I would love to raise as much money for this charity as possible, so here's the link to my fundraising page with more information about JNF too. A donation, no matter how small, would be wonderful.
In return, I will do my level best to complete the run on Sunday.
Thank you 🙌🏻🌟
