Natalie Evans, along with Coral Golding founded 42 Juice, a beautiful company which produces fresh, organic juices made from raw, cold pressed fresh fruit and vegetables. 42 Juice started in early 2013 after a combined journey which lead them both to understand and passionately believe in the benefits of juicing. Natalie has given DHB an interview discussing why she created her healthy company, who inspires her and why she loves juice cleanses.
Natalie, Why Did you Create 42 Juice?
My partner Gus fell seriously ill in 2010 with an auto immune disease and was in hospital for several months. During his long and difficult recovery, his sister Coral and I saw how important and beneficial a healthy lifestyle and diet was for healing the body and we became really passionate about our diet and lifestyle at this time. We saw a gap in the market for organic juices and focused on juice cleanses initially until we were able to set up shop as a smoothie and juice bar/cafe!
Who Inspires You From The World Of Wellbeing And Why?
Alison Wu and Lee Tilghman - they make the most amazingly beautiful salads, drinks and smoothies bowls using ingredients that I know and love. Loni Jane for her plant based recipes and family lifestyle. Deliciously Ella - I can relate to her path of overcoming illness and becoming passionate about a healthier lifestyle and she has achieved so much with her businesses, it is very inspiring.

Why Do You Do Juice Cleanses And How Do They Make You Feel Afterwards?
Juice cleanses are so good to do when you're feeling low on energy, run down and they're super good at kick starting new habits and lifestyle changes! I used to do cleanses a lot before I fell pregnant and they were always really good for boosting energy and putting me back on track in terms of lifestyle choices as they make you really conscious of what you are putting into your body. Afterwards, you really do feel incredible and full of energy and life and you want to maintain that feeling of wellness long term, which is why I personally think that juice cleanses are so good for initiating a healthier lifestyle!
What's Your Beauty Routine Like? Do You Have Any Can't Live Without Products?
My beauty routine is really simple as I don't like using harsh products on my skin as it's quite sensitive. I use coconut oil for so many things - it's one of the most versatile must have products I use. I use it as a make up remover with cotton pads and warm water - it really is the best make up remover, so if you haven't tried it, definitely do. I tend to only use coconut oil as a moisturiser too and I also use it as a mouthwash (oil pulling), as well as cooking with it and putting it in my smoothies! Apple cider vinegar is another must have product. Mixed with water for a great facial toner, this can be used for a number of skin issues and is super cheap and easy to do. I also mix acv with water and raw honey and drink it as a tonic in the mornings as it's great for digestion.
Who's Your Favourite Chef From The World Of Health And Do You Have A Favourite Recipe And Recipe Book?
I don't tend to do toooooo much cooking as my partner is way better at it than I am! I do have Deliciously Ella's and Natasha Corrett's cook books, which are great. Moonjuice's recipe book is beautiful and inspiring and the Vitamix recipe book has loads of great recipes too!
You Recently Had Your First Baby And You Look Incredible. Did You Enjoy A Good Pregnancy And Have You Any Tips For Pregnant Mums On How To Stay Healthy And Blooming?
Thank you! I had a really great pregnancy, which I am really grateful for! I made sure that I was getting all the appropriate nutrients for my baby and I drank a lotttt of juice and smoothies to keep my energy levels high and to stay well and healthy. I found it really important to stay super active throughout the whole pregnancy and I would definitely recommend all pregnant ladies stay active for as long as possible as I really think this contributed to my body adapting well to pregnancy and being strong throughout.
Have You Been To A Detox Retreat Or Spa?
I wish I had been to a detox retreat but I've never had the time! Maybe next year... : )
Brighton's Health And Wellness Scene Is Booming. Where Are Your Favourite Health And Fitness Places There?
42 Juice is my favourite (obviously)! There's also a restaurant called SIX and a health cafe called Bo, where we sell our juices and smoothies - it's such a great space and they do amazing breakfasts and brunches. There's also a beautiful studio upstairs, which runs a range of different classes from yoga to baby massage. It's definitely one of the best health spots in Brighton and my favourite hang out.
How Do You Stay Fit And Healthy?
Currently - breastfeeding, eating well and dancing around with my little one! I need to get back into physical exercise, so I'm going to start doing exercise and yoga from home during nap times!
How Do You Stay Feeling Relaxed And Grounded Whilst Juggling Life?
This, at times, can be one of the hardest things to do, especially with the stresses of running a business! I find it really important to try and be present in the moment and take the positives out of everything, especially during stressful times. Time alone to breathe and reflect is so important and sometimes the simplest of things like a hot bath to unwind at the end of the day and a cuddle is all you need!
Finally, What Advice Would You Give Your 16 Year Old Self?
To stay true to who you are and what you believe. Be confident in your own ability and don't doubt yourself or let other people's opinions dictate yours. There is always something positive to be gained from negative situations, it's allll a matter of mindset. Trust that the universe will respond to your manifestations and most of all, be kind, do what makes you happy and work hard - at relationships, at work, at yourself, at everything!
