Eat the right food: I truly believe that health and wellbeing go hand-in hand with eating well – how we fuel ourselves impacts on our wellbeing as a whole and it’s important to recognise this. I’m a great believer in feel good food and I always try to embrace seasonal, local, organic produce where possible as the mainstay of my meals. Try not to eat too many things that come out of a packet and always aim for lots of fresh veg!
Focus on your gut health: Good gut health has the power to totally transform the way we look and feel and by making a step in the right direction, through a daily dose of probiotics, you can make a real difference to your overall health and wellbeing. Start by making one small change to your diet and adding in some probiotics in the form of plain live yoghurt or fermented foods such as kefir. I’ve created a simple to follow good gut checklist on the Liz Earle Wellbeing website: https://lizearlewellbeing.com/good-gut-checklist/
Exercise outside: With Spring finally here, now is a great time of year to get outside and enjoy the countryside or city parks at their best. Mental health studies show that getting outside and exerting yourself in the fresh air helps clear the mind, lifts our mood and even improves the quality of our sleep. I’m a recent convert to running and enjoy early-morning (short, quick!) runs - running outside gives my skin an extra glow!
Enjoy the simple pleasures: Make more time during your week to do more of what makes you happy and to see more of the people you love! For me that’s making the most of family time outside – I love Spring picnics, farm walks, kicking a ball around on the grass. Special times that improve our mood and quickly de-stress at the end of a long day.
Balanced wellbeing: For me, wellbeing is all about balance which is why it’s good to embrace our guilty pleasures from time to time! That’s why on the Liz Earle Wellbeing website you’ll find everything from skin-saving salads to tempting teatime treats, all using delicious, nutritious ingredients to help you glow from within.
